Bill Young

Managing Partner / Founder / Chief Executive Officer

Experience

When Bill Young founded XploreNet, along with Treg Meldrum and Karen King in January of 1997, the Internet was a strange word defined primarily by opportunity and curiosity. XploreNet's success and longevity comes from the drive and heart of Co-founder, Bill Young . Young's vision has built a Web development and consulting company that brings a human perspective to a technology-driven industry. XploreNet was different from the beginning, conceived as an ISP (Internet Service Provider) and growing to create divisions in development, consulting, networks, and hosting. Young accomplished all this with no outside equity investment until June of 1998, when the company gained funding from an angel group led by a cofounder of a successful wholesale newspaper distributor in Germany.

In 2000, Young was recognized by the Denver Business Journal as a winner of the "Forty Under 40" award. In addition to XploreNet, Young also has interests in two other firms and conducts training seminars and speaks to several schools, organizations, associations, and non-profit groups each year.

In 2005, Young teamed with Michael Sevilla to write the book Webplicity - The Critical Guide to Successful Web Strategies™ The idea was to help C-level executives, business owners, marketing, and IT personnel with understanding and completing a web plan. Young understood from the beginning the importance of building successful and profitable client relationships lies in providing the customer with full web support. Clients need to be able to understand all the options available to create a solid and comprehensive web plan that will launch them from the present and enable to realize the vision. The Intelligent Development System™ was born from XploreNet's development processes and through "real life" customer experiences. XploreNet's team realized that building web pages is simple, but helping clients understand their options and best practices is what brings success or failure in an often unforgiving environment.

Making a Difference

Young is Past President of the Denver Active 20-30 Children's Foundation, a non-profit service organization whose mission is to raise money for at-risk and disadvantaged youth through fundraising events, such as the Denver Polo Classic and Brokers Benefiting Kids and Christmas For Kids. Young served as the Event Chairman of the Denver Polo Classic in 2001 and 2002 and was recognized by the organization as the Rookie-of-the-Year in 2001 and Member-of-the-Year in 2002 and 2003.

Ian Holtz

Director, Business Development

Experience

Ian Holtz began his professional career at the Institute of Behavioral Genetics (IBG) aiding in an ongoing Heritability Twin Study over a 3-year span while working towards a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Holtz began his tenured sales career at US West Communications in consumer markets. He moved to Qwest as a C-Level sales executive in enterprise markets after building the small business sales office with tremendous market penetration in the emerging technologies of wireless and DSL. During that time he received three consecutive President's Club nominations recognizing only the top 1% of the organization's entire staff. Holtz was also involved in Qwest's early nationwide marketing campaign profiling employees and re-branding efforts for the company's current trademark - The Spirit of Service. During the campaign he was featured on television commercials, newspaper and internet ads as a voice for Qwest.

After moving on to strengthen mortgage banking joint ventures between Wells Fargo and Bank of the West, Ian helped launch a Denver web-based advertising startup. He was instrumental in the early business development stages of an online live video entertainment directory, focusing on both long and short term growth strategies. From concept, testing and launch Ian was integral in the company's subsequent success.

Making a Difference

Holtz and his 9-year old daughter are both active volunteers in horse rescue and riding therapy for Colorado children with developmental disabilities. He discovered Rocky Mountain Riding Therapy while covering the organization for a story he authored for the Colorado Daily, a Boulder based newspaper agency.
